Job summary

The role at Cura-Hospitality within New York Presbyterian - Hudson Valley Hospital is for an experienced registered dietitian to assess nutritional needs, initiate interventions, and enhance quality of life for patients/residents in a healthcare setting.

Based in Cortlandt Manor, NY, you will work with the care team, educate patients and staff, ensure compliance with nutrition standards, and support regulatory requirements. This is a non-exempt, hourly paid position.

Qualifications

• Passed the national exam by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or eligible per Academy requirements.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.
• Actively participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.
