The Registered Dietician position supports the adult CF Program at UC San Diego Health. The CF program is an accredited care center that provides comprehensive, high quality care to cystic fibrosis patients. The Registered Dietician will work with the multidisciplinary CF team including nurses, social workers, respiratory therapist, and administrative staff. Under supervision of the Clinical Manager and Supervisor, the RD collaborates with the healthcare team to provide medical nutrition therapy to pediatric/adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Identifies patients at various nutrition risk levels based on criteria outlined by department. Assesses nutrition needs and identifies nutrient requirements with regard to age and disease-specific needs of patients.

Responsibilities

Develops, implements and records in EHR the nutrition care plan for all assigned patients. Fosters continuity of care among all phases across the continuum of care. Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy intervention. Manages the delivery of nutrition care in assigned units. Actively participates in medical rounds. Participates in department\'s special projects, performance improvement activities, and research.

Provides nutrition lectures and in-services to nutrition and medical staff as assigned. Collaborates with Diet Techs and mentors dietetic interns/students. Actively assesses, evaluates, and maintains professional development and competency related to assigned units. Assists with foodservice projects to improve patient satisfaction. May perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Dietitians must possess the equivalent of a Bachelor\'s Degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics and have completed an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics internship.
• Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD).
• Two (2) years experience.
• Applicants for positions in the Dietitian series are expected to possess the experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an outpatient setting.
• Two (2) years of experience working with CF/Pulmonary/Chronic Illness patients.
• Demonstrated experience using EPIC.

Pay Transparency

Annual Full Pay Range: $93,632 - $123,584 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $44.84 - $59.19
