Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a per diem Registered Dietitian to collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and provide general nutrition care for both adult and pediatric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. The RD will perform nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and outcome evaluation while coordinating dietetic technicians and supervising interns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university.
• Didactic program in dietetics with ACEND-accredited supervised practice.
• RD eligibility and exam within 6 months of program completion.

Job Summary: The registered dietitian (RD) per diem, collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to provide general nutrition care that is integrated with overall goals of care for adult and/or pediatric patients atrisk for nutrition problemsininpatientandoutpatientsettings. The RDin this classification works in inpatient or outpatient pediatric and adult settings to provide nutrition care for patients with a wide range of clinical problems. Primary responsibilities include nutrition assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention and evaluating clinical outcomes; coordination of daily work for dietetictechnician(s)(DTR)assignedtoarea;participationincompliance,departmentprojects,and quality performance improvement efforts; active involvement on interdisciplinary teams and committees;andcontributionstothesupervisionofdieteticinterns, andteachingassignedclasses. TheRDmaintainsprofessionalcompetenceandcontinuingeducationperregulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’sdegreefromaregionallyaccredited university
• Successful completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice experience, approved or accredited by Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).Amajorityoftheclinicaltrainingmusthavetakenplaceinalargeteachinghospital.
• RegisteredDietitian(RD)oreligibletositfortheRDregistrationexaminationandpassesexam within 6 months of completing ACEND-accredited supervised practice program. An RD-eligible employee works under the direct supervision of an RD.

Preferred Qualification

• Master’s degree
• Majority of work experience in a large teaching hospital
• Fluency in second language
