Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or similar field acceptable for licensure.
• Experience with Eating Disorders and Substance use strongly preferred in facilities working with those patient populations.
• Current registered dietitian or registration as required by state or eligible for endorsement by the state in which the facility provides services.
• ServSafe certification or similar food safety certification where required by the state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Assess nutritional needs and health plans to develop dietary-care plans and provide counseling.
• Approve patient menus and nutritional supplements.
• Counsel patients and families on nutrition principles and dietary plans.
• Provide nutrition assessments per facility policy and regulation.
• Review and approve facility menus and nutrition plans.
• Monitor food service operations for compliance with nutrition and safety standards.
