Job summary

Ascension Living in Wichita, KS is seeking a full-time Dietitian/Nutritionist in Nutrition Services for day shift. The role focuses on assessing nutritional needs, developing therapy plans, and working with physicians and nursing staff to implement care plans.

You will monitor and adjust regimens, deliver medical nutrition therapy, and contribute to meal oversight and sanitation. Minimum licensure and ALS/BLS preferences apply.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Dietitian/Nutritionist required (CDR)
• ALS/ACLS preferred; BLS accepted
• Education specialization in Diabetes Management preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess patients for nutritional status and provide diet therapy, counseling or supplements
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing and ancillary services (speech pathology, PT)
• Monitor tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional regimens; adjust as needed
• Provide medical nutrition therapy and evaluate treatment effectiveness
• Research and address nutrition care-related complaints or problems
• Assist in monitoring meals, intake, diet compliance and tray accuracy
• Maintain sanitation of food preparation areas during inspections

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assess patients for nutritional status. Provides interventions/treatments including diet therapy, counseling or specialized nutrition supplements.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing and ancillary services such as speech pathology or physical therapy.
• Monitor tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional regimen and recommends therapy adjustments as necessary.
• Provide medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments.
• Research and take initiatives to resolve nutrition care related complaints and problems.
• Assist in monitoring meals including intake, diet compliance and tray accuracy.
• Maintain sanitation of food preparation area(s) through planned and unannounced inspections.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Educator specializing in Diabetes Management preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
