Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation seeks a Registered Dietitian to perform nutrition assessments, counseling, and education for patients in substance use treatment. The role supports recovery by addressing deficiencies, promoting healthy eating, and improving overall health and wellness.

The RD will create care plans, monitor progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure nutritional needs are met in a behavioral health setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the CDR.
• Current Louisiana licensure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nutrition assessments for new and existing patients.
• Develop individualized nutrition care plans based on medical history, nutritional status, and recovery goals.
• Monitor patients’ nutritional progress and update care plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, counselors, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Provide recommendations for special diets and nutritional supplementation when appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with applicable state, federal, and accreditation standards.
