Job summary

The Registered Dietitian at Southwest Foodservice Excellence will guide menu planning, recipe development, and compliance across K-12 food programs. You will partner with culinary and purchasing teams to create nutritious, cost-effective menus and prepare for state reviews.

You will travel to school sites up to 50% of the year, train staff on HACCP and nutrition standards, and provide on-site support during administrative reviews to ensure safe, compliant meals for students.

Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential with active license
  • Experience in menu planning, recipe development, and school nutrition compliance

  • Strong communication, coaching, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Position Summary

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Regularly required to walk, sit, reach, and handle kitchen equipment
  • Work includes exposure to kitchen heat, cold storage, and strong food smells
  • Moderate noise levels and extended computer work expected
  • Travel required approximately 50% of the year (nationwide)
  • May work some extended weeks based on district needs and review schedules
