Role Description

The Registered Dietitian is a full-time, on-site role based in Fayetteville, AR, providing direct nutritional care and counseling to patients undergoing bariatric and weight management treatment. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting nutrition assessments, developing individualized meal plans, and delivering medical nutrition therapy tailored to patients’ medical conditions and weight-loss goals. The role involves leading one-on-one and group education sessions, documenting care in the medical record, and collaborating closely with surgeons, nurses, and other care team members to coordinate treatment plans. The Registered Dietitian will monitor patient progress, adjust interventions as needed, and provide ongoing support to promote long-term behavior change and healthy lifestyle habits. Additional responsibilities may include contributing to program development, creating patient education materials, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) credential and eligibility for Arkansas state licensure.
• Demonstrated expertise in Dietetics and Nutrition, with the ability to develop individualized, evidence-based nutrition care plans.
• Strong skills in Nutritional Counseling and Weight Management to support patients in achieving sustainable lifestyle changes.
• Proficiency in Medical Nutrition Therapy for bariatric patients and individuals with related comorbidities (e.g., diabetes, hypertension).
• Experience in bariatric, surgical, or clinical nutrition settings is preferred.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to educate and motivate diverse patient populations using non-judgmental, culturally sensitive approaches.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and competence with electronic health records and basic office technology.

2 yrs experience as an RD (preferred)

• Proficient with basic computer programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
