Job summary

ShreveportBossierDental is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to help treat patients and promote oral health practices. You’ll assist dentists with treatments, perform hygiene duties, and educate patients on oral care. Strong infection control and patient communication skills are essential.

Starting rate is $40.00 per hour, with a monthly bonus plus opportunity for ancillary service bonuses. The clinic offers comprehensive benefits and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Dental Hygiene recognized by regulatory bodies.
• Valid license to practice dentistry in the relevant state.
• Experience in dental hygiene tasks and patient interaction.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients feel comfortable before examination.
• Sterilize dental instruments after use.
• Conduct initial mouth screenings and review oral health history.
• Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis.
• Clean and protect teeth (plaque removal, fluoride application).
• Educate patients on proper teeth care and brushing techniques.
• Provide post-operative instructions to patients.
• Take X-rays or dental impressions as needed.
• Assist dentists with selecting treatments for various conditions.
• Maintain patient documentation and charts; monitor supplies.

Skills:

• Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. OSHA)
• Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
• Outstanding communication skills

• Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
