We are seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) whose duties center around cleaning patient's teeth and giving instruction in proper dental hygiene and ensuring that the dental department meets or exceeds guidelines. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate well with patients, establish good rapport, make patients comfortable in the dental setting and assist in dental education.
General:
Adhere to the highest standard of dental practices, ethics and professionalism at all times.
Maintain an affiliation with the professional groups, dental associations, and dental organizations, as per policies and procedures established by Indian Health Service.
Participation in community health events.
Must become familiar with Federal, State, and local funding agencies' rules and regulations in providing special dental services to certain classes of recipients of services.
Greets and seats patients.
Assists with patient education in such areas as oral hygiene instructions and preventive dental care.
Takes and processes dental x-rays as requested by dentist.
Sterilizes all dental instruments.
See that all patients' charts are in order.
Under supervision of the Dentist, some duties might include:
Operate dental radiography equipment and perform photography.
Apply sealants, fluoride, and bleaching agents.
Assist with nitrous oxide administration.
Conduct preliminary exams, chart findings, and take impressions.
Adjust dentures, seat ortho appliances, and place/remove dressings, bands, and sutures.
Perform polishing, root planning, and subgingival irrigation.
Administer local anesthetics and perform soft tissue curettage (with required training).
Customer Service Duties:
Professionally and in a customer-focused manner, disseminate program and Tribal information as appropriate and as instructed by Tribal Council.
Is able to understand, be sensitive to, communicate with, and have knowledge/awareness of the culture of the Indian community to be served.
Provide input, initiate, and embrace changes that will continually improve the operation of the Greenville Rancheria and assist the Tribal Council and Tribal membership in growth, efficiency, and prosperity.
Maintain a high level of Tribal, patient, and employee confidentiality.
Other duties as assigned.
