Dental Hygienist Job Responsibilities

• Promote dental health through prophylaxis, screenings, radiographs, and charting in compliance with the Dental Practice Act
• Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping
• Provide information and answer patient questions
• Maintain and sterilize instruments
• Select appropriate materials based on patient needs
• Perform dental prophylaxis and detect disease via screenings and radiographs
• Apply fluorides and cavity-preventing agents to arrest decay
