Ohio Dental Outreach, a school-based mobile dental practice, is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist in Columbus, OH, and surrounding areas to help provide dental care to underserved children at their schools.

Our innovative in-school dental program offers a different experience compared to traditional dental practices. With a workday that ends with the school day and no nights or weekends, our program is ideal for those seeking a diverse and meaningful work environment, working parents, and anyone wanting to make a difference in the dental field.

Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) Qualifications:

• Must hold an active RDH license
• At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist
• Valid driver license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to schools across counties
• Ability to work well with children and adults
• Current CPR (BLS) certification

Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) Responsibilities:

• Assist with the oral health management of all patients, demonstrating teamwork at all times
• Verify patient identity using name and date of birth before treatment, and initial the medical chart to confirm verification
• Obtain oral health assessments for each patient (new baseline and follow-up)
• Review medical history and relevant oral health information
• Provide oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis, scaling, sealant application, and fluoride treatments following best practices
• Assist the dentist as directed
• Provide oral health education and counseling tailored to each patient (e.g., brushing, flossing)
• Document all dental services on the patient's chart
• Travel daily to and from school sites

Ohio Dental Outreach Offers:

• Evenings, weekends, and summers off
• Work a school day schedule (approximately 6-7 hours), typically between 8:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M.
• Unique work experience with flexible scheduling
• Full-time and part-time positions available
• Pay rate: $40-$45 per hour
• Latest technology and digital radiography
