Job Description:

The Dental Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of dental assisting duties while promoting quality dental care for our patients and maintaining a safe, low-stress environment. The Dental Assistant assists the doctor, educates patients on dental care, communicates effectively with patients (and parents if the patient is a child), and follows universal precautions and OSHA requirements. This position requires working two Saturdays a month.

Dental Assistant Job Duties:

• Set up and seat patients for the doctor. Ensure rooms are properly stocked, cleaned, and prepared for treatment. Provide excellent patient care following protocols.
• Accurately document all patient notes and initial correct forms. Ensure completion of consents, medical clearances, and prescriptions.
• Assist the doctor chairside with procedures cheerfully.
• Manage medical records: receive, document, and release records as needed.
• Assist the doctor using appropriate materials and instruments. Follow OSHA and safety protocols. Take radiographs accurately to minimize retakes and radiation exposure.
• Ensure treatment plans and charges are correct, including discounts.
