Job summary

Back Bay Periodontics & Dental Implants in Boston is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant to support periodontal and implant procedures, ensuring sterile environments and accurate documentation.

You will prepare treatment rooms, assist during surgeries, capture radiographs, monitor patient status, and coordinate supplies. Massachusetts RDA license and Radiology Certification required; BLS/CPR certification due within 1 month of hire.

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts Registered Dental Assistant license required.
  • Massachusetts Dental Radiology Certification required.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on patient safety and infection control.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced periodontal setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the periodontist during periodontal and implant procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and maintain a sterile clinical environment; postoperative care duties.
  • Support an unobstructed operative field using suction, retractors, and irrigation.
  • Prepare, inspect, and sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • Obtain and process dental radiographs and imaging as needed.
  • Monitor patient comfort and status during procedures.
  • Review postoperative instructions and reinforce care guidance with patients.
  • Complete accurate clinical documentation and patient narratives.
  • Coordinate supplies and equipment to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Support additional clinical responsibilities as assigned.

What You’ll Do

As a Periodontal Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our periodontist and clinical team throughout surgical and nonsurgical periodontal procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the periodontist during periodontal and implant procedures

What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Registered Dental Assistant license in the state of Massachusetts (required)
  • Massachusetts Dental Radiology Certification (required)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire)
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on patient safety and infection control
  • Excellent manual dexterity and clinical precision
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced periodontal setting
  • Professional, calm, and compassionate demeanor with patients
