Compensation: $23.50-$32.75/hour

The primary role of the Registered Dental Assistant Extended Function II (RDA-EF) is to assist the dentist in gaining the patient’s commitment to the best possible treatment, with urgency. Key duties include:

• Utilizing x-ray time to promote the qualities of the dentist, learning patient expectations, and educating them with intra-oral pictures.
• Using effective chair-side skills and supporting the dentist’s diagnosis after examinations.
• Adhering to safety regulations, infection control, and permitted duties per state and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform functions according to state’s Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties and strive for the Perfect Patient Experience.
• Attend to patient concerns and expectations.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment; prepare patients and assist dentists to ensure efficient treatment.
• Obtain dental history, complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures, instruct patients on oral health, and record treatment details.
• Prepare tray setups, present instruments, keep mouths dry, sterilize equipment, and maintain supplies.
• Escort patients and maintain professional appearance and compliance with all regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, with mandated state training/certification.
• Preferred: Associate degree or certification from an accredited institution.
• Required licenses and certifications as per state regulations.
• Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 10 pounds, standing, walking, and visual requirements.
