Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join a growing multi-specialty group. The ideal candidate will hold an active Texas RDA license, be bilingual in Spanish, and maintain CPR/AED certification while adhering to OSHA/HIPAA protocols.

Responsibilities include patient charting, radiography, instrument preparation, inventory, and assisting clinical staff while ensuring high standards of safety and infection control across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Must maintain an active RDA license registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE).
• Active CPR and AED training.
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred.
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training.
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful.
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are a huge plus.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is required.

Responsibilities

• End of week inventory to be provided to Lead DA to replenish inventory.
• Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one.
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner.
• Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details.
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health.
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit.
• Preparing tray setups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures.
• Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction.
• Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern.
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
• Performs all other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
