Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics is seeking a qualified Registered Dental Assistant to join our multi-specialty team. The role requires an active RDA license (Texas), CPR/AED certification, and familiarity with charting, radiographs, and assisting clinicians.

This on-site position emphasizes patient safety, OSHA/HIPAA training, and collaboration with the Rodeo Team to deliver high-quality care to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE).
• Active CPR and AED training.
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred.
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training.
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful.
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are a huge plus!
• Bilingual (Spanish) is required.

Responsibilities

• End of week inventory to Lead DA to replenish inventory.
• Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one.
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols and disposing of sharps and clinical waste safely.
• Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details.
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health.
• Monitoring the patient4s physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit.
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures.
• Ensuring exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked.
• Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient4s chief concern.
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart.
• Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
