Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant to deliver direct patient care across orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. You will work in the Back Office and front lobby, engaging, entertaining, and caring for patients.

This role requires a valid Texas RDA license, current CPR/AED, and bilingual Spanish. The schedule may include evenings and weekends to support patient care needs across multiple Rodeo locations.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dental Assistant license with Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE).
• CPR and AED training current.
• Nitrous Oxide monitoring certification preferred.
• OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training up to date.
• Experience with dental software (Open Dental/Dentrix) helpful.
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS certifications are a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-of-week inventory and coordinate with Lead DA.
• Ensure patient safety and team safety as a priority.
• Follow OSHA and Infection Control protocols, dispose of sharps and waste safely.
• Maintain digital patient records including health history, eligibility, treatment plans, and authorizations.
• Educate patients and parents on oral health benefits.
• Monitor patient well-being during visits and assist doctors.
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences and procedures.
• Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected, and stocked.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Registered Dental Assistant is a key member and contributor in creating an amazing, one-of-a-kind Patient Experience. The RDA will provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. Successful candidates will work in the Back Office and in our world-class lobbies engaging, entertaining, and caring for our patients.

SCHEDULE:

This position requires a flexible schedule that may require extended hours

as business requires – including evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
• Active CPR and AED training
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!
• Bilingual (Spanish) is required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• End of week inventory to be provided to Lead DA to replenish inventory
• Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
• Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
• Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart\
• Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
• Performs all other duties as assigned PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
