Salary: $23.50-$32.75 per hour

Position Overview

Registered Dental Assistants (RDAs) perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The primary role of the RDA is to assist the dentist in securing the patient's commitment to the best possible treatment with urgency. Responsibilities include supporting the dentist during treatment, utilizing x-ray time effectively, educating patients with intra-oral pictures, applying chair-side skills, and supporting diagnosis post-examination. RDAs must comply with safety, infection control, and permitted duties according to state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist to gain patient commitment for optimal treatment with urgency.
• Participate actively in providing the Perfect Patient ExperienceÔ by focusing on patient needs and concerns.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment; prepare patients for treatment and assist the dentist to ensure efficient, quality dental care.
• Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed by the dentist.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and oral health care.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories following ADA guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and health regulations, including OSHA, HIPAA, and state dental boards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; required state-specific training and certifications (e.g., radiograph exposure, coronal polish, ultrasonic scaling, sealant application).
• Associate degree or a one-year certificate from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience preferred.
