Salary: $20.00 - $27.00 / Hourly

Role and Responsibilities

Registered Dental Assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The primary role of the RDA is to assist the dentist in gaining the patient’s commitment to the best possible treatment, with urgency. Key duties include:

• Utilizing x-ray time to promote the qualities of the dentist
• Learning patient expectations and educating them with intra-oral pictures
• Using effective chair-side skills
• Supporting the dentist’s diagnosis after examinations
• Ensuring compliance with safety, infection control, and permitted duties according to regulations

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist to gain the patient’s commitment for optimal treatment
• Participate in delivering the Perfect Patient ExperienceÔ by focusing on patient needs and concerns
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment
• Prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors to ensure efficient, quality care
• Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed by the dentist
• Instruct patients on postoperative and oral health care
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories following ADA guidelines
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, with required training courses for certification or licensure
• Certifications/licenses as mandated by the state (e.g., radiograph exposure, ultrasonic scaling, sealant application)
• Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school preferred
