Job summary

River Edge Behavioral Health seeks a Registered Behavioral Technician (CRBT) to join The Crisis Service and Diagnostic Center in Macon, GA. You will implement behavior support plans, assist during crises, collect data, and coordinate with analysts to ensure safety and continuity of care.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma and RBT certification, have at least 2 years in behavioral health (IDD a plus), and possess solid computer and communication skills to document progress and support

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • RBT certification required.
  • At least 2 years in behavioral health with IDD or related field.
  • Good computer skills are required.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities are a plus.
  • IDD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement behavior support plans to promote skill acquisition and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Assist staff during crisis situations using de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Collect and maintain accurate behavioral data and report progress to the behavior analyst.
  • Coordinate crisis management approaches with behavior analysts and direct support staff.
  • Contribute to functional behavior assessments by presenting data and coordinating interviews.
  • Model and promote replacement behaviors and safe intervention practices.
  • Provide guidance to direct care staff on ABA-based strategies during crises.
  • Maintain timely documentation of interventions, progress notes, and incident reports.
  • Maintain open communication with analysts, individuals, and staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Address personnel issues to support a productive work environment.
  • Maintain RBT certification requirements via CEUs and supervision.

The Crisis Service and Diagnostic Center is a program designed to offer individual, tailored assistance and brief (up to 90-day) stabilization for a maximum of sixteen (16) adults aged 18 and above, who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or concurrent mental health diagnoses. These individuals are experiencing psychiatric symptoms and/or significant emotional/behavioral changes that negatively impact their functioning and jeopardize their ability to stay in their usual home environment.

Location/Schedule:

750 Hazel Street, Macon, Georgia Rotating 12-hour shifts Sun-Sat 7 pm-7 am.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement behavior support plans developed by the behavior analyst to promote skill acquisition, replace behaviors, and address challenging behaviors exhibited by individuals in the center.
  • Assist staff during crisis situations, utilizing techniques such as de-escalation strategies, calming techniques, and behavior redirection to ensure the safety of all individuals and staff involved.
  • Collect and maintain accurate behavioral data, track progress, and inform the behavior analyst of any significant changes.
  • Work closely with the behavior analyst and direct support staff to coordinate crisis management approaches and ensure consistency in behavior support strategies.
  • Assist in conducting functional behavior assessments by presenting data, conducting staff interviews to assist with identifying triggers and patterns contributing to crisis situations.
  • Implement and model behavior support strategies to promote replacement behaviors and prevent harmful behaviors.
  • Model appropriate behavior management and crisis intervention techniques for direct support staff based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of interventions, progress notes, and incident reports is essential in your role as an RBT in a crisis center.
  • Maintain open communication channels with behavior analysts, individuals, and direct care staff to ensure continuity of care and effective crisis resolution.
  • Address any personnel issues to promote a productive and supportive work environment.
  • Maintain RBT certification requirements via CEUs, supervision, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies relevant to crisis services.
Qualifications Needed (education and/or experience):
  • Requires a High School Diploma.
  • Requires certification as a registered behavioral technician.
  • At least 2 years working in behavioral health, with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), or a related field.
  • Must have good computer skills.
  • Communications skills and the ability to foster good relationships with others are a plus.
  • Preferred IDD experience.
