The Muskegon County opportunity invites a Registered Behavior Technician to deliver one-on-one behavioral support in community mental health, local communities, and family homes. Under supervision by a BCBA or BCaBA, you will participate in behavior assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of written behavior plans.

Applicants must be credentialed as an RBT by BACB, hold a valid Michigan driver's license, and have reliable transportation to travel to various sites.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one services related to behavior intervention for children with autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities in community, home, and CMH settings.
  • Work under supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA, participating in behavior assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of written behavior plans.
  • Perform paraprofessional duties and other related tasks as assigned.

Job description

*Note: Applicants in this position will not be scheduled more than 32 hours per week.


A Registered Behavior Technician, under general supervision and working in a variety of Community Mental Health, local community, and family home settings, provides one on one services related to the delivery of comprehensive or focused behavior intervention to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, neurological disorders, or other developmental disabilities. An employee in this class performs a variety of paraprofessional level work activities requiring a general working knowledge of the mental health field and behavior analysis. A Registered Behavior Technician will work under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) providing a number of services related to behavior assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of written behavior plans. This employee also performs other related duties as assigned.



  • Must currently be credentialed by the Behavior Analytic Certification Board (BACB) as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).

  • Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment.

  • Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.

  • Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

A Registered Behavior Technician must be in good physical condition such as to allow for the lifting of objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds and for standing or walking extended periods of time. A Registered Behavior Technician must be able to lift and transfer consumers from wheelchair to other surfaces as needed. This employee must also be able to perform physical intervention techniques as trained and approved by the agency.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

An employee in this class generally works at various locations in the community and in family homes. Must be able to drive and travel to locations within and outside of the county.


EVALUATION CONTENT

Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check. Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent.
