Job summary

Colonial Group in Orlando, FL seeks a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to implement ABA plans and support BCBA supervisors. The candidate will document progress daily, execute treatment protocols, assist with daily living tasks, and engage with families while maintaining professional boundaries.

Required: High School Diploma, RBT certification, and at least 1 year of verifiable RBT experience. Willingness to participate in meetings and training.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 1-year verifiable experience as RBT.
  • RBT certification required.
  • Experience with crisis management (Safety Care, PCM, PCI).
  • ABA therapy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Document client performance daily via data collection.
  • Implement all aspects of the client’s treatment plan.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in work areas.
  • Assist with toileting, dressing, grooming, and feeding as needed.
  • Communicate session outcomes with parents/caregivers within professional boundaries.
  • Assist BCBA in developing training materials updated with current technologies.
  • Graph all data as assigned.
  • Attend weekly clinical meetings as an active participant.
  • Ensure compliance with BACB guidelines and Quest policies.
  • Respond promptly during elopement incidents and be physically capable in emergencies.
  • Support storm debris cleanup after hurricanes and attend required trainings.

  • Candidates should be available Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Consistently perform duties of Registered Behavior Technician I with increased independence, initiative and/or demonstrated ability:
  • Document each client’s performance on a daily basis via data collection method specified by assigned BCBA.
  • Implement all aspect of client’s treatment plan as developed by the BCBA.
  • Assist in ensuring cleanliness and orderliness of work environments
  • Assist client with toileting, dressing, grooming, and/or feeding as needed.
  • Communicate session outcome with parents/caregivers while maintaining professional boundaries and within the scope of one’s certification.
  • Assist BCBA in developing training materials that are up-to-date with current technologies on a daily basis.
  • Graph all data as assigned.
  • Attend all weekly clinical meetings as an active participant in programmatic discussion.
  • Ensure compliance with any and all regulations pertaining to BACB guidelines as well as Quest’s policies and procedures.
  • Independently perform reactive strategies confidently and effectively with individuals of all ages and problem behavior.
  • Present with willingness to help out with additional tasks (BCBA projects and/or data collection) when needed.
  • Present as a reliable model for incoming RBTs and/or those who may need additional shadowing.
  • Attend all weekly clinical meetings as an active participant in programmatic discussion.
  • Must respond promptly and effectively during elopement incidents.
  • Must be physically capable of moving quickly in elopement situations or other emergency events.
  • Follow all emergency procedures during a drill or in an actual emergency.
  • Following a hurricane, all staff who are able to safely travel to and report to their assigned work location will be expected to assist with storm debris cleanup operations.
  • Attend all required training and monthly staff meetings.
  • Follow all Quest policies and procedures.
  • Employees are required to report serious issues to the employee hotline or to a Quest leader under the See Something Say Something policy.
  • Management reserves the right to revise the job or to request that other or different tasks be performed as assigned.
Work Experience/Related Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors.
  • 1-year verifiable experience as RBT within field of ABA therapy.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required.
  • Experience with crisis management (i.e. Safety Care, PCM, PCI, etc.).
  • Experience in developing and implementing behavioral programs with developmentally disabled individuals is preferred.
