Job description

Responsibilities

The RBT/Behavior Technician’s essential functions are to provide 1:1 or group ABA therapy / Behavior Support to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities. The RBT/Behavior Technician is the front line and must engage in daily communication with parents / guardians.

  1. Consult with team members about behavior plans, curriculum modifications, accommodations, and social skills and provide staff with resources, tools, and in‑center modeling of techniques;
  2. Implement programs, consult with BCBA, BCaBA and Program Manager regarding programming, attend staff meetings;
  3. Implement behavior plans for and assist with assessing progress of effectiveness of behavior plans and curriculum modifications;
  4. Assist with behavior assessments;
  5. Ensure timely completion of progress reports & graphed data as assigned by BCBA or BCaBA;
  6. Ensure behavioral strategies are implemented consistently and accurately across clinical follow‑through with programs to ensure efficacious delivery across settings;
  7. Assist with developing data collection measures and collecting data on a daily basis as outlined on each individual’s datasheet;
  8. Attend team meetings as necessary and requested;
  9. Assist with the development of appropriate plans and curriculum for students who require all levels of behavior programming;
  10. Demonstrate proficiency in using applied behavior analysis by carrying out behavior change projects meeting designated standards of reliability and scientific rigor, satisfying answering questions in regard to the principles of behavior, and by demonstrating proficiency on evaluation developed for each of the essential skills of the position.
  11. Work 1:1 with students and run social skill groups when necessary;
  12. Maintain a professional clinical approach when meeting families and clients. Maintain professional boundaries;
  13. Serve as primary contact point with parents or guardians at pick up and drop off;
  14. Uphold the BACB’s ethical and best practices guidelines;
  15. Attend community events and run information dissemination booths at events to increase interest and client base as requested to do so / volunteer to do so;
  16. Other duties as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate program in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field preferred.
  • At least one year experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Diagnosis.
  • Excellent written and vocal communication skills.
  • Experience working with a range of children with autism from those who exhibit severe challenging behaviors to children who with social skills deficits.
  • Must have clean criminal history and be able to pass the pre‑employment process.
