Job summary

Quincy School District in Quincy, Washington, is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician to support IEP-driven behavior plans under BCBA supervision. Location: Support Services; 180 days/year, 7 hours/day; School Year 2026-2027. Starting date: Immediately.

You will implement intervention plans, collect and summarize data, coordinate with teachers and parents, and participate in team meetings and trainings. The position is part-time with benefits and union affiliation.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• RBT Certification is required or willingness to become certified.
• Awareness of behavioral attributes related to behavioral disorders, autism, TBI and other behavioral complications.
• Recent experience in a school setting.
• Recent experience with students who have challenging behaviors.
• Experience implementing IEPs, FBAs and BIPs.
• Ability to establish rapport with students, colleagues and staff.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

REGISTERED BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN

Supervisor: Director of Special Education
Location: Support Services
Condition of Work: 180 days/year – 7 hours/day
School Year 2026-2027

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Registered Behavior Technician is responsible for the implementation of behavior intervention plan for assigned student as developed by the IEP team, collecting data and conducting assessments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist the Special Education Teacher, consistent with IEP or IFSP goals, in lesson plan implementation; one-on-one & small group instruction; classroom management; student observation & assessment; and communication with parents and staff.
• Collect data and report student progress.
• Maintain accurate data collection records.
• Communicate with staff and parents as instructed by the Special Education Teacher.
• Implement, assess, and evaluate implementation of student intervention plans and programs; provide input and feedback to teachers, parents, other appropriate team members and the Director.
• Implement positive behavior intervention systems.
• Manage crisis intervention by maintaining a safe, classroom environment for the students.
• Participate as a member of the education team. May attend parent conferences.
• Skill acquisition and behavior reduction, preparing student and staff materials as instructed and needed.
• Assist with the development and implementation of functional behavior assessments (FBA’s) and Positive Behavior Support Plans (BIP’s).
• Assist in the instruction of socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior in all aspects of measurement procedures.
• Utilize safe and appropriate crisis emergency procedures when working with students who are exhibiting aggressive or non-compliant behavior.
• Ability to accept constructive feedback, willingness to further develop knowledge and skill sets as necessary, and to take initiative when appropriate.
• Acquire and maintain technical knowledge by attending required training such as Safety Care.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
• Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality in all matters pertaining to students, parents, staff and program.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Extended or flexible hours as necessary
• Sitting for extended periods of time may be required. Lifts and carries a maximum of 40 pounds. Adequate manual and finger dexterity, hearing, speech, and vision are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position
