Muskegon County seeks a Registered Behavior Technician to provide behavior intervention services to children with developmental disabilities in community and home settings. This vital role requires care and expertise under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Candidates should be credentialed RBTs with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
NOTE: Shift times include at least three evening shifts per week ending at 7:30pm
A Registered Behavior Technician, under general supervision and working in a variety of Community Mental Health, local community, and family home settings, provides one on one services related to the delivery of comprehensive or focused behavior intervention to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, neurological disorders, or other developmental disabilities. An employee in this class performs a variety of paraprofessional level work activities requiring a general working knowledge of the mental health field and behavior analysis. A Registered Behavior Technician will work under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) providing a number of services related to behavior assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of written behavior plans. This employee also performs other related duties as assigned.1. Must currently be credentialed by the Behavior Analytic Certification Board (BACB) as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
2. Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment.
3. Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.
Preferred but not Required
1. Bilingual candidates highly desired.
2. Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
3. Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.

Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check. Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent.

PURPOSE
The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list from which to fill present and future vacancies in this classification in the County system. For each opening, the Department Head has her/his choice of the candidates who meet the required minimum entrance qualifications. This list remains in effect for three months unless exhausted or extended.
