Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician in Chattanooga, TN to support individuals with disabilities in homes, schools, and community settings using evidence-based practices to teach essential skills for independence.

Responsibilities include implementing Behavior Plans, collecting data, and providing feedback to clinicians. A 40-hour training and a valid driver’s license are required; competitive hourly pay ranges from $20 to $23 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Completion of a 40-hour Behavioral Technician training is required.
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports.
  • Ability to implement Behavior Plans independently and confidently.
  • Ability to establish supportive relationships with participants.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite services to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities using evidence-based methodologies.
  • Model and implement behavioral strategies per the Behavior Plan to develop skills.
  • Provide timely written feedback to clinicians on Plan effectiveness.
  • Participate in meetings with participant’s support network.
  • Collect data on progress and collaborate to ensure behavior reduction and skill generalization.
  • Prepare progress reports for the team as needed.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment.
  • Cooperate with inspections and staff as required.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned.

Positive Options is the behavioral health division of Community Options, Inc. Positive Options is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician in Chattanooga, TN. Registered behavior technicians work in homes, schools, and community settings with children, adolescents, and adults, using best practices to teach the critical skills needed for each individual to live a meaningful and independent life.

$20-$23/ per hour based on experience

Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite services to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities through evidence based and data driven methodologies that include trauma informed care and positive behavior supports
  • Model and implement behavioral support strategies specified in the Behavior Plan that assist the participant with acquiring, retaining, improving, and generalizing the behavioral, self‑help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to function successfully in the home and the community
  • Provide timely and structured written feedback to the clinicians on the provision and effectiveness of the Behavior Plan and strategies
  • Participate in onsite meetings or instructional sessions with the participant’s support network regarding the recommendations, strategies, and next steps identified in the Behavior Plan
  • Collect data on progress and work collaboratively to ensure effective behavior reduction, skill acquisition, and skill generalization
  • Prepare progress reports for the participant’s team as needed
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment
  • Employees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successfully complete a 40-hour behavioral technician training
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports
  • Ability to implement Behavior Plans independently and confidently
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with participants receiving supports
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and graph data
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
