Job summary

Community Options, Inc. and its Positive Options division seek a Registered Behavior Technician in Cookeville, TN. RBTs will work with individuals in homes, schools, and community settings, applying best practices to teach critical skills for independent living.

The ideal candidate will have experience with individualized behavior interventions. Positive Options provides all required training to become an RBT for those new to the field. Salary ranges reflect experience and location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a 40-hour behavioral technician training.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Supports.
• Ability to implement Behavior Plans independently and confidently.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite services to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities using evidence-based, data-driven methodologies.
• Model and implement behavior strategies from the Behavior Plan to help participants acquire relevant skills.
• Provide timely written feedback to clinicians on Behavior Plan effectiveness.
• Participate in onsite meetings with the participant’s support network.
• Collect data on progress and collaborate to ensure behavior reduction and skill generalization.
• Prepare progress reports for the team as needed.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment.

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.

Positive Options is the behavioral health division of Community Options, Inc. Positive Options is seeking aRegistered Behavior TechnicianinCookeville, TN. Registered behavior technicians work in homes, schools, and community settings with children, adolescents, and adults, using best practices to teach the critical skills needed for each individual to live a meaningful and independent life.

The ideal candidate will have experience implementing individualized behavior interventions in multiple settings. If you are passionate about helping others and looking for a rewarding career, Positive Options provides all required training needed to become an RBT for those new to the field.

$20-$22/ hr based on experience

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite services to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities through evidence based and data driven methodologies that include trauma informed care and positive behavior supports
• Model and implement behavioral support strategies specified in the Behavior Plan that assist the participant with acquiring, retaining, improving, and generalizing the behavioral, self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to function successfully in the home and the community
• Provide timely and structured written feedback to the clinicians on the provision and effectiveness of the Behavior Plan and strategies
• Participate in onsite meetings or instructional sessions with the participant’s support network regarding the recommendations, strategies, and next steps identified in the Behavior Plan
• Collect data on progress and work collaboratively to ensure effective behavior reduction, skill acquisition, and skill generalization
• Prepare progress reports for the participant’s team as needed
• Provide a safe and supportive environment
• Employees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
