Job summary

City and County of San Francisco seeks a System Operations Manager in the Water Supply and Treatment Division to lead the Regional Water System operations. The role requires directing facility operations, supervising SysOps staff, and coordinating with partner agencies to ensure high-quality drinking water and reliable service.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in water treatment operations, management experience, and the ability to work with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4 years of managerial experience in operations, engineering, or regulatory compliance.
• California driver license required along with a Grade V Water Treatment Operator Certificate or PE license.
• Experience supervising large staff and coordinating cross-department projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct and control Water Supply and Treatment Division facility operations.
• Direct, supervise and develop System Operations Section personnel and resources.
• Administer budgets, contracts and personnel processes to sustain services.
• Represent SFPUC with high-level officials and partner organizations.
