Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Wastewater Operations Technician to cover vacations and absences at multiple Veolia-operated facilities in the Dayton area. The role supports training of local technicians and ensures adherence to industry standards while working closely with the SWOT team on start-up projects.

Travel to designated sites is required, with potential extended periods away from home as needed. Excellent problem solving and record-keeping skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, required.
• Willingness to learn and be able take instructions on Wastewater treatment processes
• 3+ years of experience in Wastewater treatment plant operations or related field required.
• Prior experience in a traveling work role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of Veolia facilities in your region during vacations and unplanned absences.
• Train local technicians with hands-on visits and develop electronic training materials.
• Ensure industry standards and best practices are used across facilities.
• Support new account start-up projects with the SWOT team and training.
• Provide troubleshooting support to local technicians and drive proactive decisions.
• Operate and control pumps and valves to regulate wastewater flow.
• Collect and test wastewater samples and maintain accurate client data.
• Comply with Veolia safety programs and maintain SOPs.
