Job summary

The Texas Democratic Party is seeking Regional Voter Protection Directors to implement programs preventing election administration issues and to recruit and support a large volunteer team in their region.

You will collaborate with the Voter Protection Director and partners, organize county leaders, train volunteers, and respond quickly to questions about election administration and voting while documenting activities for audit trail.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience; not an entry-level role.
• Ability to communicate complex information to non-legal audiences.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
• Customer service skills: professionalism under pressure and responsiveness.
• Public speaking and training facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to voting rights, voter access, and electing Democrats.
• Strong understanding of race equity and its relation to voting work.
• Willingness to work long and irregular hours around Election Day and Early Vote operations.

Responsibilities

• Organize and support in-county leaders and volunteers to monitor components of the voting process and mitigate/resolve problems.
• Cultivate community relationships to provide nontraditional engagement opportunities for voter education, volunteer recruitment, and protecting the vote.
• Maintain regular contact with county leaders and volunteers, proactive check-ins, and respond to questions about election administration and voting, documenting activities.
