Blue River PetCare, based in Chicago, seeks a Regional Operations Manager to oversee 15+ hospitals and drive revenue and profitability. Travel to clinics is 75% via car or plane, with leadership across local practice managers and veterinarians.

Ideal candidates bring multisite veterinary operations leadership experience, P&L management, and strong organizational skills to coordinate staffing, compliance, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Three years of veterinary management and two years of multi-unit experience.
• Experience managing profit and loss statements and delivering positive financial results.
• Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Supervises operations of 15+ Blue River PetCare hospitals with goal of revenue and profit growth.
• Works with local management and veterinarians to ensure high standard of patient care.
• Acts as liaison between hospitals and Blue River management, offering profitability recommendations.
• Provides staffing support in inventory, scheduling, compliance, training, recruiting, and retention practices.
• Ensures hospital compliance with OSHA, DEA, AVMA and other regulations.
• Maintains proficiencies on Blue River PetCare platforms and policies.
• Coaches local management on revenue, expenses, staffing, pricing, and inventory management.
• Fosters a positive, productive work environment at clinics.
• Recruiting, onboarding, and training of practice managers.
• Partners with HR on employee relations and compliance.
• Partners with corporate operations on capital expenditures and vendor considerations.
• Performs duties of practice manager as needed.
