PMA Companies is seeking a Regional Underwriting Director for the Midwest to lead our commercial underwriting team responsible for workers' compensation, commercial auto, GL, and umbrella lines. The role emphasizes loss-sensitive and guaranteed-cost underwriting with strategic regional execution.

The candidate will drive profitable growth, oversee pricing and coverage terms for new and renewal business, and cultivate strong relationships with distribution partners and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and at least 7 years work experience in a senior underwriting position in the commercial insurance industry.
• 2 years underwriting management experience is desired; candidates with at least 5 years senior underwriting experience will be considered.
• Preferred designations include CPCU or Associate in Risk Management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure profitable growth of the region in line with corporate plans and underwriting excellence.
• Manage regional production underwriting process and collaborate on regional growth strategies.
• Oversee pricing and terms for new and renewal business.
• Lead underwriting staff with coaching, development, and succession planning.
• Develop and maintain relationships with distribution partners.
