Job summary

CNA seeks a strategic and experienced underwriting leader to steer the Core Middle Market business in the Midwest as Regional Underwriting Manager. You will develop underwriting talent, drive excellence, and deliver sustainable growth across the region, partnering with sales and production leaders to maximize profitability and portfolio performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with Master’s preferred in a related discipline, or equivalent.
• Typically a minimum of 12 years of related work experience, with seven years management experience.
• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Owns underwriting and profitability goals for the assigned region.
• Aligns with top distribution firms to promote profitable growth opportunities.
• Leads and manages staff with emphasis on talent development and succession planning.
• Partners with SVP/VP level sales and production leaders to maximize opportunities with agents & brokers.
• Reports results to management and develops plans to resolve issues.
