Job summary

DataField Technology Services seeks a dedicated Fire Alarm Technician for a six-month contract-to-hire role. The position involves regional travel (Columbus, Dayton, Lima) and a company vehicle with a fuel card.

Initial and ongoing training will be provided in Lima, Ohio, for candidates with a general electrical background. Compensation ranges from $24 to $40 per hour, depending on commercial experience and active certifications (NICET III/IV preferred).

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial installation or maintenance of fire alarm systems.
• NICET certifications (Level III or IV) are highly desirable.
• Willingness to complete initial and ongoing training at the Lima, Ohio facility.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for operation of the provided company vehicle.
• Electrical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting and repairing electrical components.
• Ability to read schematics to guide installation processes.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial fire alarm systems per safety standards and codes.
• Travel regionally between client sites in Columbus, Dayton, and Lima to perform field tasks.
• Use power tools safely and effectively for installation tasks.
• Read blueprints and schematics to understand layouts and specs.
• Provide field service support, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on site.
• Collaborate with team to meet project timelines and quality standards.
• Occasionally travel overnight within Ohio; advance notice provided.
