Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) in Spokane, WA, is seeking a skilled Transportation Engineer 4 to serve as the Programming Engineer. You will develop projects to preserve and improve regional transportation assets for the statewide CIP, applying specialized training and professional judgment to analyze complex programming, engineering, and scoping issues.

• Synthesize scoping information and interpret engineering calculations for decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the biennial Eastern Region construction program with region and HQ disciplines.
• Review content and prioritize tasks for the Eastern Region construction program.
• Independently decide methods, schedules, and resource allocations within constraints.
• Determine locations to investigate and develop a menu of solutions.
• Ensure coordination with region programs and project office.
• Input data into Capital Connect and Unifier systems.
• Scope improvement and preservation projects within the Region.
• Coordinate regional and HQ priorities and scoping.
• Assist Region Administrator and managers with special projects.
• Collect and share scoping and prioritization information.
• Plan, develop, schedule and coordinate project summaries and scoping for other Regions.
