Job summary

State of Wisconsin—WisDOT in Wisconsin is seeking a Region Programming Engineer to lead regional SHR programs with engineering and financial oversight. The role is hybrid, based in the Southeast Region with regular presence at the Waukesha office and telework within the state.

The position requires PE eligibility or licensure with strong engineering, economic analysis and policy interpretation skills, supporting statewide transportation initiatives.

Qualifications

• This position requires a valid Professional Engineering registration or the ability to obtain Wisconsin PE within 3 months if licensed in another state.
• Strong engineering and financial analysis skills and the ability to review policy and interpret statutes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders at multiple levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor regional SHR Programs (3R and Backbone).
• Perform engineering and economic analyses and provide financial recommendations.
• Assist supervisor with policy development and procedural changes.
• Interpret applicable statutes and rules; coordinate with statewide stakeholders.
