Job summary

AECOM in the Southeast is seeking a Transit Market Sector Leader to establish and grow our transit practice across North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama. You will lead market growth, build client relationships, and guide a high-performing team delivering BRT, LRT, commuter rail, TOD programs.

This role requires strategic vision, strong executive presence, and a track record of winning large projects while coordinating across planning, design, environmental, and construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, Transportation, Public Administration, Architecture, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in transit planning, design, engineering, program management, or major transportation infrastructure.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and complex transportation programs.
• Proven experience winning and delivering transit projects.
• Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and executive leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Southeast Transit Market growth strategy across NC, SC, TN, and AL.
• Manage client relationships with transit agencies, MPOs, state DOTs, and municipalities.
• Build and lead a Southeast Transit Practice with staffing and strategic growth.
• Lead pursuits, capture planning, proposals, and contract negotiations for transit programs.
• Deliver major transit projects including BRT, LRT, commuter rail, TOD, and mobility initiatives.
