Job summary

Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Division of Transportation System Development, is seeking a Traffic Engineer (Civil Engineer Transportation Senior or Advanced) to guide traffic analysis and shape Wisconsin's roadway improvement projects. The role is hybrid with headquarters in Wisconsin Rapids or Rhinelander.

The position requires performing traffic functions, providing direction to technicians and engineers, and coordinating lane closures.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering OR ETAC-accredited engineering technology degree with EIT or PE license.
• Four years of engineering experience required for senior level; PE registration within 3 months for advanced level when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine up to complex traffic functions for the North Central Region.
• Provide traffic engineering direction and guidance to technicians and engineers.
• Lead development and approval of lane closures and TMP-related work zone plans.

Education
