Job summary

PBK is seeking a Regional Technical Director in California to oversee technical quality across the region, ensuring alignment with firm-wide standards, codes, and client expectations. You will guide project teams and Production Directors, promoting innovative, sustainable solutions and building strong client relationships.

The role requires 15+ years of architectural and project-management experience, a relevant architecture degree, and a track record of leading large, complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture is required.
• 15+ years of experience with a strong focus on technical execution and project management.
• Proven leadership delivering large, complex projects from concept to completion.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills under pressure.
• Willingness to mentor staff and develop regional technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide regional technical leadership and oversight to ensure alignment with PBK design standards, building codes, and client expectations.
• Oversee design, documentation, and construction administration to meet timelines and budgets.
• Mentor junior staff and lead technical training across regional offices.
• Implement QA/QC processes and risk management to maintain technical accuracy.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for managers and support business development.
• Stay current with BIM, digital tools, and sustainable design practices.
