Job summary

American Welding & Gas Inc. seeks a dynamic Supply Chain Manager for the Northern Markets (MT, ND, SD, WY, MN). This regional role drives store supply chain performance, with up to 50% travel to engage with stores and achieve objectives.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 3–5 years in supply chain, and strong leadership and communication skills to manage end-to-end processes including sourcing, inventory, logistics, and distribution. Regional travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, operations, or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience managing end-to-end supply chain processes, including sourcing, procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.
• Awareness of global supply chain challenges and experience managing international logistics.
• Proven ability to communicate complex supply chain information to diverse audiences.
• Strong leadership experience in managing and developing teams.

Responsibilities

• Coach store managers on inventory and supply chain performance, ensuring accountability for metrics like turns, obsolete inventory, freight expense, and GMROI.
• Serve as gatekeeper for store parameter changes and new inventory requests.
• Support store efforts during tie-outs and full inventory counts.
• Oversee ticket creation, PO receiving, cost discrepancies, shortage management, transfers, etc.
• Address recurring issues and other needs during site visits.
• Manage DSI sales opportunities, open orders, cycle counts, negatives, and pricing discrepancies.
• Lead projects on obsolete inventory, supplier/product changes, and freight expense.
• Participate in the HG steering committee to provide local insights and ensure effective execution.
• Contribute to long-term supply chain projects.
• Travel up to 50% of the work schedule.
