- Coordinates the facility stroke program
- Utilizes and manages Stroke Champions on every unit related to stroke care
- Serves as a resource to the hospital for care of stroke patients
- Facilitates community outreach activities related to stroke awareness and education
- Completes ongoing staff educational opportunities for all levels involved with stroke care
- Collects and analyzes data regarding outcomes of the stroke program
- Analyzes data, prepares reports for Stroke Performance Improvement reviews
- Submits required data to the joint commission and other regulatory agencies
- Evaluates effectiveness of patient teaching
Requirements
- Current licensure in ONE of the following: Licensed Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire
- One (1) year of experience in a neurology related position
