Job summary

Tecta America is seeking a Staff Accountant in Mankato, Minnesota to join the Midwest Regional Finance team. You will work closely with the Regional Controller, support multiple locations, and gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, forecasting, project accounting, tax compliance, and process improvement.

Ideal for a recent graduate or early-career accountant; responsibilities span month-end close, audits, and regional support. Office-based with travel across the Midwest region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• At least one year of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close for multiple operating units and accurate financial reporting.
• Analyze cost-to-complete estimates and adjust project budgets.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze financial results and variances against forecast / prior periods.
• Prepare timely financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Support audits, payroll and sales tax filings as required.
• Assist regional controller and operating units with ad hoc analyses and process improvements.
