Job summary

Northwest Texas SBDC Region seeks a part-time Business Field Advisor to counsel and train area businesses across a 13-county Texas Panhandle region. Responsibilities include assessing client needs, guiding business plans, and providing financial analysis and regulatory guidance to startups and expanding firms.

The role involves travel up to 75% and collaboration with SBA, banks, chambers, and educational partners to transfer university knowledge to the small business community.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 3+ years in business or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook, Zoom).
• Ability to work independently with effective communication and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Assess client needs.
• Provide counseling on finance, marketing, management and operations.
• Guide development of business plans and financial packages.
• Prepare pro forma cash flow and financial statements.
• Input counseling data into Neoserra system.
• Promote the program and build stakeholder relationships.
• Lead trainings for small business start-ups and growth.
• Develop Sustainable & Resilient Rural Economy Academy.
