Job summary

Clear Channel Outdoor is seeking a Regional Sign Inspector in Chicago, IL. You will coordinate with Real Estate and Operations to inspect inventory, assess safety hazards, and ensure standards are met.

You will prepare weekly inspection reports and action recommendations, and supervise staff or contractors as needed. Responsibilities include emergency assessments after natural disasters, maintaining blueprints, and communicating findings to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the construction field.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, or military experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience related to each certification.

Responsibilities

  • Send reports to branch President, Real Estate Manager, and Operations Managers.
  • Supervise and direct personnel assigned or hired to assist.

Job Summary

The Regional Sign Inspector coordinates with branch real estate and operations departments to perform detailed inspections of the inventory in their market based on category.

Job Responsibilities
  • Evaluate not only the critical failure points of a structure but the overall site location of the inventory. These key factors will be used to identify safety issues such as close proximities to electrical wires, surrounding buildings, highways, as well as other possible hazards. These vital contributing factors will be used in determining the feasibility and cost effectiveness of maintaining the inventory location.
  • Identify sign structures for quality standards and structural issues. The inspection standards have been developed to include all critical failure points of a structure. Complete an inspection report for each structure along with a summary sheet for the number of inspections completed on a weekly basis. The final reports will include a recommended action for the maintenance of the structure.
  • Send reports to the branch President, Real Estate Manager, and Operations Managers.
  • Supervise and direct any and all personnel either assigned or hired to assist in this process.
  • Serve as the first responder in emergency situations to assess structural damages in the event of natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned and requested.
Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience in the construction field.

Education and Certifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, or military experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience related to each certification.
Skills
  • Able to read and comprehend blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Capable of comprehending and performing tasks associated with engineered drawings.
  • Ability to work independently or within a crew with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to identify, comprehend, and implement procedures associated with welding symbols.
  • Competent in Microsoft Outlook mail.

Physical Demands
  • Climbing ladders and/or stairs and work at elevations from 10 feet to more than 100 feet.
  • Lifting and positioning ladders, safety equipment and materials in excess of 85 pounds.
  • Standing, bending, stooping, lifting, positioning, holding, pushing and pulling self, materials and equipment in excess of 85 pounds.
  • Use pulleys, lifts, slings and other equipment required for elevated work.
  • Operating various other equipment hand tools.
  • Driving and operating trucks, cranes, vans and other equipment associated with the job.
  • Digging and shoveling of various soils concrete and fill materials.
Other Requirements
  • In and out of state travel and overtime is required.
  • Has a valid driver's license and a commercial driver's license, Class A or B.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) required.
Compensation

Targeted Compensation Range for this Illinois position is: Min: $28.00, Max: $30.00.
