Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. You will lead complex substation projects, mentor staff, and oversee performance, utilization, and resource planning.

This role requires expertise in protection and control systems, SCADA integration, and client service, with travel to multiple regional offices as needed. A PE license and 15+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and PE license.
• 15+ years related experience; willingness to travel.
• Experience leading regional engineering teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, delivery, and technical execution of high-voltage substation protection and control projects.
• Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA, and communications.
• Develop and review protection/controls deliverables; coordinate across teams.
• Lead performance, budgeting, staffing, and client relationship management.
