We embrace innovation and care about outcomes that are good for business, everyday life and making a better world – creating lasting impact for everyone.

We design, build and service highly engineered products in fluid and motion control applications. We focus on five market sectors: Industrial Automation, Process Automation, Climate Control, Life Science and Fluid Control, and Transport.

Our partnership approach breaks through problems and reduces complexity. We don’t invent in isolation – we collaborate with our customers. We listen closely and we think differently, creating space for diverse minds to innovate. We are working together to make businesses safer, more sustainable and more productive.

Role Overview:

The primary role of the Regional Sales Manager is to promote, grow, and support the sales and business development of IMI products in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a focus on results and providing superior solutions for the customers in the assigned region.

This role focuses on driving growth for our advanced control valves, which integrate digital capabilities and automation in a space that’s rapidly evolving and full of opportunity. It’s a chance to work on innovative, high-impact solutions in a growing segment of the valve industry.

The target audience includes mechanical and controls contractors, manufacturing reps/distributors to help promote the new product, designers for specification work, and OEMs.

This role involves proactive networking, attending trade shows, engaging with incoming leads, and building strong relationships across the industry.

Work Environment: This is a remote role with up to 75% annual travel to customers, trade shows, and events. Travel will vary based on business and customer needs; some weeks may involve no travel at all, while others may include 1–4 days on the road. It’s not expected that you’ll be travelling five days a week regularly. Flexibility is built into the role to align with priorities and demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive business development efforts within the assigned region, identifying and closing new opportunities through a consultative, value-based sales approach
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, industry stakeholders, and rep companies to support product promotion and market expansion
  • Deliver technical and commercial support for complex projects, including product training and customized solutions
  • Represent IMI at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities, and actively engage in presentations and seminars
  • Monitor and analyze key projects, market trends, and competitor activity; communicate insights to leadership
  • Use CRM tools to track customer interactions, opportunities, and results
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and contribute to regional sales goals
  • Support customer needs throughout the sales cycle, from pre-order to post-installation
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, safety programs, and internal training

Critical Competencies for Success:

  • Four-year degree in Business Administration, Engineering (HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical), Construction Project Management, or a related field required; MBA preferred. At least 3+ years of manufacturing sales management experience preferred
  • Experience with or knowledge of hydronic balancing valves and HVAC flow control preferred
  • Willingness to travel based on business and customer needs may include periods of higher activity, but typically not full weeks away; estimated annual travel up to 75%
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers’ representatives, distributors, contractors, engineering firms and other sales prospects/customers.
  • Experience in product training and presentations to customers
  • Proven, consistent experience meeting company sales quotas and objectives.
  • Highly organized, internally driven, team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Maintain a valid Driver’s License
  • Must read, speak, write, and understand English

Pay range: $130,000 - $145,000 annually

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.

Bonus eligibility: This position is also eligible for a variable incentive pay component, separate from the base salary.
