Job description

A well-established, global provider of management systems certification and assurance services is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to support continued growth across the Eastern United States. The organization provides ISO and related audit, certification, and registration services to clients across a broad range of industries.

This is a client-facing business development role responsible for generating new business, developing strategic relationships, and collaborating with sales, marketing, and operations to strengthen the organization’s market position. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing the full sales process—from initial prospect engagement and needs assessment through proposal development, negotiation, and close.

Key Responsibilities

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for a combination of tactical sales execution, strategic business development, and market-growth initiatives, including:

  • Develop and manage new business opportunities throughout the assigned Eastern U.S. territory.
  • Engage prospective clients by phone, email, virtual meetings, and in-person visits to understand their needs and gather information required to develop quotations and proposals.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and manage opportunities through the sales pipeline to successful close.
  • Deliver presentations to prospective clients, decision-makers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Prepare quotations as needed and collaborate internally on larger or more complex proposals.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with consultants and other industry partners to expand market awareness and referral opportunities.
  • Build relationships with relevant quality, certification, and industry organizations.
  • Partner closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to identify opportunities and support organizational growth.
  • Participate in regular growth and business-development meetings.
  • Contribute to company-wide marketing initiatives and business-planning activities.
  • Represent the organization at national and regional trade shows and industry events, typically approximately 4–6 times per year.
  • Participate in annual planning and budgeting activities, providing input regarding regional opportunities, priorities, and planned activities.
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions, competitive activity, industry trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Manage travel and business expenses within established budgets and company guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven sales, business development, or account-management capabilities, preferably in a professional services, certification, quality, compliance, technical, or related B2B environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience navigating commercial and contractual discussions.
  • Ability to develop relationships, build a qualified sales pipeline, and convert opportunities into new business.
  • Confidence presenting to prospective clients and senior-level decision-makers.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across functional teams.
  • Proficiency with standard business technology and CRM platforms; Salesforce experience is preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory, with additional travel for industry events and company activities.
Territory & Travel

This position is responsible for an Eastern U.S. territory and requires regular monthly travel to support prospective and existing client relationships. Additional travel may be required for trade shows, industry events, and internal meetings.

**To be eligible for this role, you must reside within the Eastern Time Zone.

This role offers the opportunity to join an established international organization operating in a specialized, relationship-driven B2B market. The Regional Sales Manager will have meaningful responsibility for territory growth while working collaboratively with sales, marketing, and operational teams to develop new opportunities and expand the organization’s market presence.
