Overview

The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia is expanding and adding a position for a Staff Accountant. Steel of West Virginia, Inc. is such an excellent place to work that our employees spend their careers with us. We offer the opportunity to work in manufacturing and live in a college town (we are right across the street from Marshall University) with all the activities that it has to offer.

Responsibilities
  1. High frequency of travel, consecutive overnights mandatory.
  2. Must be able to work occasional odd hours to be successful.
  3. Ability to manage time, travel, and oneself.
  4. Fiduciary responsibility to manage expenses, entertainment, and travel (SDI does not provide corporate credit cards).
  5. Potential for international travel - ability to acquire travel pass/VISA.
  6. High business ethics. This position means you are a visual representative of the company in your personal community & territory 100% of the time.
  7. Sales experience.
  8. Highly inquisitive and self-motivated.
  9. Proficient in basic computer skills, including Excel.
  10. Must be able to work in a team environment and willing to help teammates daily.
  11. Outstanding communicator – written and oral.
  12. Assertive/Confident - ability to ask for orders, demand mutual respect within buyer/seller transactions while maintaining humility.
  13. Quick thinking – must have the ability to start conversations in one-on-one settings or with multiple individuals at once.
Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • High-energy and self-motivated.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multiple years field/territory management.
  • Outside sales/travel experience.
  • Experience in Salesforce, SAP Concur, or foundation of CRM system.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
