As Regional Sales Engineer, you will own the full sales cycle for BMO's product lines — from prospecting and first contact through field demos, proposal delivery, and close. You'll build and manage a territory throughout all major US oil and gas operating basins, spanning the Rockies, Mid-Continent, Permian, and Western Canada, working directly with production engineers, facilities managers, and environmental/ESG leaders at E&P operators.
This is a hunter role. You'll be opening doors, building pipelines, and converting new customers while nurturing relationships with existing customers.
What You'll Do
- Identify, prospect, and close new E&P operator accounts across your territory, building a robust pipeline from scratch and through industry relationships
- Develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned with BMO's basin-by-basin growth plan across the Rockies, Permian, Mid-Continent, Appalachia, and Alberta
- Lead technical sales conversations around pneumatic device replacement, EPA OOOOb/c compliance, and the operational and economic benefits of solar instrument air
- Manage the full sales cycle — discovery, field demos, bid proposals, negotiation, and contract execution
- Build relationships at all levels of the operator organization, from field operations to VP-level decision makers
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure accurate technical scoping and seamless customer onboarding
- Provide market intelligence on competitive landscape, pricing dynamics, and emerging regulatory drivers back to the leadership team
What You Bring
- 5–10 years of sales experience in upstream oil and gas, with a proven track record of quota attainment selling equipment, services, or technology to E&P operators
- A strong existing network of contacts at production, facilities, and environmental/ESG roles within operators across the Rockies, Permian, Mid-Continent, or Western Canada
- Hunter DNA — you thrive on opening new accounts and building business from the ground up, not just managing existing relationships
- Self-directed and organized, with the ability to manage a large geographic territory remotely while maintaining high-quality CRM discipline
- Comfort with technical sales conversations — after short training you can credibly discuss relevant technology and operating systems with engineers
- Willingness to travel approximately one week per month across the regions
- Based in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, or Alberta, Canada
Bonus Points
- Experience selling emissions reduction or environmental compliance solutions into O&G
- Familiarity with wellpad operations, pneumatic instrumentation, artificial lift, or production equipment
- Understanding of methane emissions regulations (EPA OOOOb/c, Alberta Methane Reduction rules) and ESG-driven procurement trends
- Existing relationships with O&G operators
- Familiarity with solar-powered or off-grid equipment deployments
- Experience at a growth-stage company where you wore multiple hats and helped shape the sales playbook
